Griswold, CT — A 21-year-old Massachusetts woman was fatally injured on her birthday when another Tesla Model Y struck the Tesla Model Y she was riding in head-on.
According to the Connecticut State Police, at approximately 2:51 PM on Sunday, September 28, 2025, emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of [270] Preston Road, Griswold, for reports of a head-on collision with serious injuries.
At the time of the collision, a gray 2024 Tesla Model Y, operated by a 42-year-old Jewett City man, was traveling southbound when it crossed into the northbound lanes of travel. It collided head-on with a white 2021 Tesla Model Y, operated by a 23-year-old man from Ludlow, MA. The operators of both vehicles sustained minor injuries and were transported to William W. Backus Hospital. The front-seat passenger of the white Model Y, a 21-year-old woman from Ashburnham, MA, was transported to William W. Backus Hospital with serious injuries and later succumbed to her wounds.
State Police indicated this incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information should contact Troop E at 860-848-6500.
