Thompson, CT — Connecticut State Police have confirmed that two people were found deceased following last week’s house fire on Orchard Drive.
At approximately 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, area fire departments were dispatched to 34 Orchard Drive for a reported house fire. First-arriving units encountered a vehicle blocking the roadway, heavy fire throughout a two-story home and detached garage, and reports of possible occupants trapped inside.
The fire heavily damaged the residence, forcing firefighters to conduct defensive operations. Connecticut State Police Troop D, the Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit, the Eastern District Major Crime Squad, and the Thompson Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the incident.
Connecticut State Police have since confirmed to Quiet Corner Alerts that two deceased individuals were located at the scene. The Eastern District Major Crime Squad is working to identify the individuals, who are believed to be adults.
