Killingly, CT — Two people were killed early Friday morning after a fire tore through a mobile home in the South Killingly Fire District.
At approximately 1:10 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, a first alarm was struck for a reported mobile home fire at 15 Fall Brook Park.
The on-duty KB ambulance and paramedic, dispatched as part of the initial alarm, arrived on scene within approximately four minutes and reported a fully engulfed mobile home. Around the same time, Quinebaug Valley Emergency Communications dispatchers advised responding crews that the residence may still be occupied.
South Killingly’s Engine 165, staffed by volunteer firefighters responding from home, arrived at approximately 1:21 a.m. The engine laid Large Diameter Hose (LDH) from the entrance of the mobile home park to establish a water supply while crews simultaneously deployed an attack line and began searching the residence for the reported occupants.
The South Killingly Fire Department confirmed that firefighters located two victims inside the residence and removed them from the burning structure. Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to neighboring mobile homes. No firefighters reported injuries during the incident.
The cause and circumstances surrounding the fire remain under investigation by the Killingly Fire Marshal’s Office and the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit (FEIU).
