Killingly, CT — Connecticut State Police have confirmed to Quiet Corner Alerts that troopers assigned to Troop D [and Killingly Police] were dispatched to Killingly High School, 226 Putnam Pike, at approximately 11:47 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2026 for a reported “suspicious incident.”
Radio traffic indicated responding units believed the incident could be similar to numerous swatting calls received over the past year which were ultimately determined the threats to be unfounded. As of publication, Quiet Corner Alerts has not received any reports of a lockdown, evacuation, or other impact to school operations related to Wednesday’s incident.
The response comes after numerous swatting incidents have targeted area schools over the past year.
In June, a 14-year-old female was summoned to Willimantic Juvenile Court following an investigation into swatting incidents reported “in and around March 2026.” The juvenile was charged with first-degree falsely reporting a large-scale emergency, second-degree breach of peace, and first-degree threatening involving violent intent causing an evacuation. The outcome of the juvenile court proceedings is unclear.
Connecticut State Police also confirmed to Quiet Corner Alerts that the initial investigations into three earlier swatting incidents involving Killingly High School determined that the “suspicious communication originated from an unknown location.” The results of those investigations and collected evidence were forwarded to federal investigators for further investigation.
Wednesday’s incident remains under investigation, and additional information has not yet been released.
