Webster, MA — For the third time in as many months, an area hometown bank was robbed with the implication of a weapon Tuesday morning.
At approximately 8:30 AM on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025, the South Worcester County Communications Center received a call reporting that the bankHometown, 4 Gore Rd, had just been robbed by an individual claiming they had a gun.
Witnesses on the scene reported the man fled on a blue and black Suzuki GSXR, which was parked outside. As officers were responding, personnel at Webster EMS headquarters on Thompson Rd reported hearing a street bike traveling South on I-395 at an extremely high rate of speed.

Approximately 10 minutes later, the Connecticut State Police – Danielson received a report of a bike matching the description traveling erratically and losing items from their backpack in the area of I-395 exit 37 Southbound. A Troop E – Montville trooper was posted on the highway in the area of exit 24, waiting for the motorcycle. When the operator spotted the cruiser, they reportedly made a U-turn on the highway, fleeing into oncoming traffic. A short time later, the motorcycle was briefly spotted further south but was not caught. Troopers spent several hours canvassing the roadside between the Massachusetts state line and exit 37 for items that may have flown out of the operator’s backpack. It is currently unclear if they were successful.
It is currently unclear if this robbery is related to the May 1st Thompson bankHometown or the June 17th Woodstock bankHometown robberies. The Connecticut State Police have indicated they believe the Thompson and Woodstock incidents are related. In these incidents, a 5’7″ light-skinned male dressed in black entered the bank and displayed a firearm before fleeing in a dark colored SUV with Massachusetts plates. These robberies occurred at approximately 12:38 PM and 9 AM, respectively.
Nobody was physically injured in any of the robberies.
The Webster robbery is currently under investigation by the Webster Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Connecticut State Police.
