Putnam, CT — Two Marshall Street residents were arrested last week after police executed a search warrant on the property. One person was found attempting to flush drugs down a toilet.
According to the Putnam Police Department, at approximately 10:25 AM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, the Putnam Police Department and Connecticut State Police Bureau of Special Investigations Joint Task Force East executed a narcotics-related Search & Seizure Warrant at 24 Marshall Street. The investigation was prompted by numerous citizen complaints.
According to court records obtained by Quiet Corner Alerts, at the time of the raid, officers identified themselves several times by calling out “police with a search warrant” before forcing entry into the residence. As officers performed an initial search for occupants, they located a closed bathroom door. When they entered the bathroom, they found 40-year-old Daniel S Baillargeon facing the toilet. Baillargeon was removed from the bathroom and placed in handcuffs. As officers searched the bathroom, they discovered a large amount of white rock substance in the toilet, which they were able to identify as crack cocaine. A search of Baillargeon’s person revealed a large amount of U.S. Currency and several small bags of a purple powder, identified as Fentanyl.
A search of the residence resulted in the discovery of large plastic bags containing smaller plastic baggies, several scales with white residue on them, and a large number of pre-packaged narcotics. Additionally, officers located a toolbox containing baggies of packages of Fentanyl and several vials of steroids.

When questioned by officers, Baillargeon admitted that, upon spotting the approaching officers, he fled to the first-floor bathroom to attempt to flush the drugs down the toilet. Baillargeon was placed under arrest and transported to Day Kimball Hospital for complaints of chest pain. Once discharged, he was transported to the Putnam Police Department, where he was processed and held on a $75,000 Cash/Surety Bond for the following charges:
- Operating a Drug Factory (C.G.S. 21a-277(c))
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (C.G.S. 21a-267(a))
- 3x Possession of a Controlled Substance (C.G.S. 21a-279(a)(3))
- 2x Possession with the Intent to Sell (C.G.S. 21a-277(a)(1)A+)
