Putnam, CT — A 30-year-old Putnam man sustained critical injuries in a motorcycle accident Tuesday evening.

According to the Connecticut State Police, at approximately 5:25 PM on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, a 2005 Yamaha XCS1100/A was traveling on Killingly Ave when it struck a guardrail. The 30-year-old unhelmeted operator was ejected from the motorcycle, causing serious injuries.

Putnam EMS and a KB Paramedic provided on-scene care while the East Putnam Fire Department established a landing zone for LIFESTAR in a nearby field. The operator was flown to Rhode Island Hospital in critical condition.

The Connecticut State Police Troop D is asking anyone who witnessed the accident to contact TFC Matthew Siart #1410 at Matthew.Siart@ct.gov or call Troop D – Danielson at (860) 779-4900.
