Killingly, CT — Area firefighters responded to a 1-alarm garage fire on Cook Hill Road early Tuesday Morning.

At approximately 2:20 AM on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, South Killingly Fire Department’s 1st alarm was struck for a reported building fire at 194 Cook Hill Rd.

Volunteer crews began arriving within approximately 6 minutes and discovered a two-story detached garage fully engulfed in flames. Crews immediately began working to keep the fire from encroaching on the residence approximately 20′ away. As additional firefighters arrived, they focused on extinguishing several vehicles that were burning around the garage.

Crews were able to prevent damage to the home and several cars. The garage and multiple vehicles were a total loss. The fire was placed under control within approximately 1 hour. No injuries were reported during the incident.

The Killingly Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the incident.
