New London County, CT – A Connecticut State Trooper was uninjured after being in a collision during a pursuit early Monday morning.
According to the Connecticut State Police, Troop E personnel pursued a vehicle early Monday morning but terminated the pursuit before the suspect was apprehended. During the pursuit, a cruiser was involved in a collision, but the Trooper escaped uninjured.
Unconfirmed preliminary information indicates that at approximately 12:20 AM on Monday, June 9th, 2025, a Silver Chevy express van was traveling on Route 12 in the Griswold/Lisbon area when it nearly struck several DOT workers and vehicles. A Troop E Trooper witnessed the near-collision and immediately attempted to stop the van, which began to flee. The pursuit entered I-395 South, continuing at high speed (~100mph) before exiting and continuing on secondary roads at moderate speeds (~50 mph).

As the vehicle entered Canterbury, Troop E personnel terminated with hopes that responding Troop D personell would spot the vehicle and continue the pursuit under the discretion of their shift commander. Responding Troopers were unable to locate the vehicle.
The Connecticut State Police indicated the investigation remains active and ongoing.
