Approximately 45 minutes later, with no findings on the scene and amplifying outside information, Troopers determined the operator fled the scene for an unknown reason.

The Connecticut State Police’s preliminary report indicates, that a 2005 Honda CBR600, registered to a 29-year-old Mendon, MA man, was traveling Eastbound on Route 197 when the operator failed to negotiate a right-hand turn for an unknown reason. The bike collided with a road sign on the left shoulder where it continued into the woods and came to a final rest. The operator, believed to be the registered owner, evaded the scene before Troopers arrived. It is unclear if the rider sustained injuries in the crash.
