Plainfield, CT — The man who rammed a Plainfield Police cruiser in October has been captured after nearly a month on the run.
According to the Plainfield Police Department, at approximately 5:31 PM on Thursday, October 16, 2025, officers attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on a wanted suspect in the Dollar General parking lot at 74 East Main Street. The operator, 30-year-old Robert Lee Pendergast, fled in a Chevy Silverado bearing Connecticut registration BK27027. After several sightings and near encounters in Brooklyn, Putnam, Killingly, and Plainfield, the Plainfield Police Department received an anonymous tip on November 11, 2025, that Pendergast was at 58 North Chestnut Street in the Wauregan village of Plainfield.
Officers confirmed that three active warrants from Plainfield and six additional warrants from the Connecticut State Police were still outstanding. A search of the Wauregan residence led to the discovery of Pendergast, who was found hiding in a closet crawl space. He was ordered out of the crawl space and taken into custody without further incident.
Robert Lee Pendergast is currently being held at the Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center on a combined $850,000 bond.
