Brooklyn, CT — A 63-year-old Dayville man was killed Saturday afternoon when a 16-year-old driver turned in front of his motorcycle near the Walmart entrance on Route 6.

According to the Connecticut State Police, at approximately 2:26 PM on Saturday, October 4, 2025, a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by a 16-year-old Canterbury man was traveling eastbound on Route 6 when the driver attempted to turn into the Walmart driveway at 450 Providence Road. During the turn, the Jeep cut off a westbound 2005 Harley-Davidson Night Train operated by a 63-year-old Dayville man. The motorcycle struck the Grand Cherokee in a T-bone collision, fatally injuring the rider. The driver of the Jeep and his three adult passengers were uninjured.

Route 6 was closed for approximately four and a half hours as the Connecticut State Police Accident Reconstruction Squad (CARS) conducted its investigation. The investigation remains active, and the State Police are asking any witnesses to contact Troop D at 860-779-4900.

Quiet Corner Alerts maintains a policy of not revealing the names of victims or suspects unless they are actively being sought by law enforcement or pose a perceived threat to the public.
