Chaplin, CT — A Windsor Locks woman was flown to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries after a single motorcycle crash on Bates Road Wednesday evening.
According to the Connecticut State Police, at approximately 9:42 PM on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025, a 2007 Yamaha V Star 1300, operated by a 52-year-old Chaplin man, was traveling Southbound on Bates Rd [in the area of numeric 60] when it failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The motorcycle crossed into the Northbound lane and crashed in the shoulder, ejecting the operator and his passenger, a 44-year-old Windsor Locks woman.
The Chaplin Fire Department, two Willimantic Ambulances, and a Windham Hospital Paramedic responded to the scene. As they arrived on the scene, it was immediately determined that a helicopter would be required to transport the passenger to a trauma center. The passenger was transported to Windham Hospital and subsequently flown by LIFESTAR to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries. The operator was evaluated for minor injuries and refused transport.
The accident is under investigation by the Connecticut State Police Troop D.
