Putnam, CT — The Putnam Police Department is reminding residents to lock their vehicles and not leave valuables overnight, after numerous unlocked vehicles were entered last week.

According to the Putnam Police Department, at approximately 4:45 AM on Friday, May 30th, 2025, Officers were dispatched to a Sabin St residence for reports that a vehicle had been “rummaged through”. Throughout the day, several more residents on Sabin Street, Vandale Street, and Pomfret Street reported their vehicles had been entered overnight.

The Putnam Police Department indicates this remains an open and active investigation, a suspect has been identified with the help of video footage provided by area residents, and an arrest is expected.
