Brooklyn, CT – A trooper was uninjured after a 2-car collision in a Route 6 intersection Saturday afternoon. The operator of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.

According to the Connecticut State Police, at approximately 2:10 PM on Saturday February 22nd, 2025, a 2018 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor, operated by a 35-year old Trooper assigned to Troop D, was traveling West on Providence Rd (Route 6) as a 2021 Nissan Rogue, operated by a 27-year-old Hawthorne, NY man, was traveling South on Church St. The two vehicles collided in the intersection causing disabling damage to the front right of the police cruiser and front left of the Nissan.

The trooper and both occupants of the Nissan denied any injuries on the scene. The operator of the Nissan later reported injuries while at the Troop D barracks and was transported to Day Kimball Hospital with suspected minor injuries.

The Route 6/Church St intersection is a signal-controlled intersection, it is currently unclear which direction had a red light or if the Trooper was responding to a call.
