Killingly, CT – Area Firefighters responded to a chimney fire that extended to the walls of a single-story residence Saturday Afternoon. The damage was largely contained to a single wall around the chimney.

At approximately 3:35 PM on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, the South Killingly and Danielson Fire Departments were dispatched to 7 Beckwith St for a reported chimney fire.

Upon arrival the Incident Commander observed smoke coming from the eaves of the dwelling and immediately upgraded to a 1st alarm assignment, bringing additional departments from Sterling and Plainfield to the scene.

Crews quickly opened the wall around the chimney and fireplace extinguishing the fire in approximately 20 minutes before it could spread throughout the home.

No injuries occurred during the incident.

The Fire is under investigation by the Killingly Fire Marshal’s Office.

Agencies that responded, or were dispatched, included the South Killingly Fire Department, Danielson Fire Department, Sterling Fire Department, Moosup Fire Department, Plainfield Fire Co. #1, and KB Ambulance.
