Putnam/Thompson, CT – A 47-year-old Putnam woman was flown to Hartford Hospital after she was struck attempting to cross Kennedy Dr Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 3:42 PM on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024, Putnam Police, EMS, and a Quinebaug Valley Paramedic (QV Medic) were dispatched to the intersection of Kennedy Dr and Bridge St for a car versus pedestrian motor vehicle accident.

According to the Putnam Police Department, the on-scene investigation determined that a 2016 F-250, operated by a 63-year-old Thompson man, was traveling Northbound on Kennedy Dr in the area of Bridge St when it struck a 47-year-old Putnam woman who was attempting to cross Kennedy Dr. Officers determined the driver had a green light and the pedestrian was not utilizing the crosswalk.

The woman was transported to Day Kimball Hospital and later flown by UMass Memorial LifeFlight to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries.
