Hampton, CT – A Trooper sustained minor injuries after being involved in a single-vehicle crash Thursday night.
At approximately 8:54 PM on Thursday, July 25th, 2024, the Hampton Fire Company, KB Ambulance (Pomfret), and Troop D Troopers responded to a single-vehicle accident involving a Trooper in the area of 314 Station Rd in Hampton.
According to the Connecticut State Police, a 2018 Ford Taurus Interceptor, operated by a 27-year-old Trooper who is in his 1st year out of the State Police Academy, was traveling Eastbound on Station Rd when he failed to navigate a right-hand curve in the roadway. The cruiser traveled off the roadway striking a wooden post and several small trees. The trooper was transported to Day Kimball Hospital with minor injuries.
Quiet Corner Alerts spoke with several area residents who explained the curve where the crash occurred is known to be hazardous for those unfamiliar with the area.
While en route to the hospital, a QV Paramedic was requested to intercept with the ambulance as a precaution for injuries possibly sustained in the crash.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that Troopers were responding to an active domestic disturbance in Hampton at the time of the crash.
