Plainfield, CT — An 83-year-old Plainfield resident was transported with suspected minor injuries after being struck by the mirror of a passing vehicle on Norwich Road.
According to the Plainfield Police Department, at approximately 2 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, the Plainfield Police Department, Plainfield Fire Department, and an American Legion Ambulance responded to Norwich Road in the area of Railroad Avenue for a pedestrian struck by a car.

The department’s initial investigation revealed an 83-year-old Plainfield woman was walking eastbound across Norwich Road when she was struck by the passenger mirror of a 2016 Chevy Tahoe, operated by a 76-year-old Moosup woman.
The woman who was struck was transported to William W. Backus Hospital, Norwich, with suspected minor injuries.
The department noted the investigation is ongoing, that multiple witnesses remained on the scene, and that a nearby CCTV system captured the incident.
