Killingly/Putnam/Plainfield, CT & Manchester, NH — The investigation into a string of bomb threats against businesses in Killingly, Putnam, and Manchester, NH, last July has resulted in the arrest of a Killingly man on terror-related charges.
According to several affidavits obtained by Quiet Corner Alerts, a multi-week investigation by the Connecticut State Police Troop D, Putnam Police Department, and Manchester Police Department (NH) determined the number utilized to call in bomb threats to multiple area businesses belonged to 41-year-old (at the time of the incident) Christopher D. Pina of Killingly (A New Hampshire address was also listed on legal documents). The investigation determined all threats came from the same number, associated with an online messaging service, and multiple calls were identified by witnesses as the same voice. Pina was reportedly hired by one of the businesses through a staffing company, and subsequently terminated before the threats.

At approximately 1:50 AM on Thursday, June 26th, 2025, Plainfield Police Officers located Pina and placed him under arrest for a warrant out of Troop D. Following his processing by Troop D (see Killingly section below) he was transfered to the Putnam Police Department for processing on two warrants out of Putnam (see Putnam section below).
Killingly, Colt’s Plastics
According to the Connecticut State Police, at approximately 1016 AM on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024, Troopers were dispatched to Colt’s Plastics, 969 North Main St, Killingly, for a reported bomb threat made to the business. K-9 Murphy (Killingly PD), an explosives detection K-9, conducted a sweep of the building, which did not reveal any evidence of explosives.
The affidavit submitted in support of Pina’s arrest warrant indicated that several calls were received in short succession on company phones. A witness who answered the phone explained that a man screamed he was going to bomb the place and that [they] had 20 minutes to evacuate the building. Another witness stated they had received a phone call at approximately 10:00 AM that morning where a man stated, “wanna fire me, I’m gonna blow you [redacted] up.”
At approximately 12:15 PM on Thursday, July 25th, 2024, another threatening phone call was received by a Colt’s Plastics. The call came from the same number as the day before, but utilized a recorded “clown” voice laughing and threatening to “blow the place up.”
The affidavit goes on to explain, in coordination with the Putnam Police Department’s investigation into a similar incident, an emergency disclosure was obtained on the suspect’s online number, which had been used in all calls to Colt’s Plastic, the Putnam threats, and Manchester, New Hampshire threats. The information was shared with Troop D and revealed that the account holder was Christopher Pina. The disclosure also provided IP Addresses and access records for the online text service account, which matched the times of the threatening calls. The information obtained through the investigation allowed for a warrant to be issued for Pina’s arrest.
Christopher D Pina is currently being held on a $100,000 bond for the following charges related to this incident.
- Threatening 1st Degree with Hazard to Terrorize (53a-61aa(a(1A)))
