Putnam, CT – A local liquor store is closed after a driver lost control of her vehicle and crashed through the store’s window Saturday morning.

According to the Putnam Police Department, at approximately 6:40 AM on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, a 29-year-old Putnam woman operating a 2005 Toyota Rav4 was traveling Westbound on Providence St when she lost control of the vehicle and struck the building at 150 Providence St, Sunny Discount Liquor.

The Putnam Fire Department and Putnam EMS responded to the scene, but the operator and her adult passenger refused transport.

The driver was issued an infraction for Traveling Too Fast for Road Conditions.

Following an assessment by the Putnam Building Official and Fire Marshal, the store must remain closed until the building can be repaired.
