Lisbon, CT – A man was fatally injured after he was struck by a pickup truck on Route 12 Monday night.
At approximately 1030 PM on Monday, October 14th, 2024, the Lisbon Fire Department and Troop E were dispatched to the area of River Rd (Route 12) and Lee Rd for a car versus pedestrian motor vehicle accident.
Arriving units found a pedestrian down in the roadway with serious injuries. Troopers immediately began rendering aid and were relieved by EMS personnel a short time later. Due to the severity of the man’s injuries, he was unable to be resuscitated and was pronounced deceased on the scene.
According to the Connecticut State Police, a 2020 Dodge Ram 1500, operated by a 36-year-old Ledyard man, was traveling Northbound on River Rd when it ran off the right side of the road striking the pedestrian and guardrail. The truck continued North before striking a utility pole.
The identity of the pedestrian has not been released at this time.
The Connecticut State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad (CARS) responded to the scene and is assisting Troop E with the investigation.
