Putnam, CT – The Putnam Police are looking for a pair of individuals after they struck a cruiser and led police on a high-speed pursuit Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Putnam Police Department, at approximately 4:15 PM on Tuesday, August 27th, 2024, officers responded to a business within the Special Service District for a reported shoplifting. An on-scene investigation showed the suspect to be 35-year-old Kayla Link (also known as Kayla Gould). Units quickly confirmed Link/Gould was wanted on several warrants, including felony warrants, out of Connecticut and Massachusetts.

A short time later officers spotted a grey Hyundai Sonata operated by Link/Gould at the intersection of Providence St and Powhattan St. The Officer was also able to identify 31-year-old Eric Pariseau as a passenger in the vehicle. As the Officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Link/Gould struck the police cruiser with her vehicle and fled. A pursuit was immediately initiated as the vehicle traveled on Route 44 into East Putnam and entered I-395 North. The Connecticut State Police (CSP), Massachusetts State Police (MSP), and local municipalities were notified and began shifting units to the region.

Link/Gould continued to flee, reaching speeds over 100mph as she approached Exit 50 (Thompson Hill Rd) in Thompson. To preserve the safety of the public the pursuit was terminated. Area agencies searched the area for the vehicle but were unable to locate it.

  • Violation of Probation (53a-32)
  • Failure To Appear 1st Deg
  • Interfere With Offcr/Resisting (53a-123)
  • Conspiracy To Commit Larceny 6Th Deg (53a-125b)

Pariseau is currently wanted in both Connecticut and Massachusetts and has previously been charged with:

  • Criminal Trespass 1st Deg (53a-107)
  • Larceny 6Th Deg (53a-125b)
  • Violation Of Probation (53a-32)
  • Failure To Appear 2nd Deg (53a-173)
  • Robbery 3rd Deg (53a-136)
  • Disorderly Conduct (53a-182)
  • Improper Use-Marker/Lic/Rgstr (14-147(c))
  • Ill Opn MV Under Suspension (14-215)
  • Traveling Unreasonably Fast (14-218a)
  • Flr To Drive In Proper Lane (14-236)
  • Evade Responsibility Death (14-224(a)*)
  • Ill Opn MV Under Suspension (14-215)
  • Carrying A Dangerous Weapon (53-206)
  • Interfere With Offcr/Resisting (53a-167a)

No injuries to Officers or the public were reported from the incident.
