Troopers and Killingly Police Officers responded to the address and found a dirt bike matching the description in the driveway. Troopers made contact with the owner of the residence, a 52-year-old man, who explained the dirt bike they were looking for was located in a trailer on another part of the property. Troopers located the bike and confirmed it was the one Putnam Police were searching for. While on the scene troopers determined the bike originally spotted in the driveway was also stolen from Putnam. The man could not soundly explain to Troopers why the bikes were on the property but it was learned the man had an active extraditable warrant out of Foster, RI. The man was arrested on the below charges and issued a $15,000 bond.

  • Criminal Trover 1st Degree (53a-126(a))
  • Extradition Arrest No Warrant (54-170)

Both bikes were towed from the scene and recovered by Putnam PD.

While searching the property for the dirt bike, Troopers spotted a 33-year-old man who was known to them, sleeping in a lawn chair under the porch. Troopers were aware the man had several outstanding Failure to Appear warrants. The man awoke as Troopers approached and it became clear he was aware of his wanted status. Troopers arrested him without incident and he was issued a total of $90,000 ($15,000 for each warrant) bond.
