Pomfret, CT – One person was injured when a tri-axle manure tanker rolled over Tuesday evening

At approximately 6:10 PM on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, the Pomfret Fire Department was dispatched for a reported manure truck rollover in the area of 290 Deerfield Rd.

On arrival crews found a tri-axle manure tanker on it side in a front yard with it’s contents on the ground and splattered across the residence.

The operator was able to exit the vehicle on their own and was transported with minor injuries.

CT DEEP responded to the scene to conduct tests of the area and coordinate cleanup. The manure is believed to be non-hazardous at this time and the primary concern is the contents of the diesel and hydraulic tank which spilled during the accident.

Agencies that responded, or were dispatched, included the Pomfret Fire Department, Putnam Fire Department, KB Ambulance, Connecticut State Police Troop D, and Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP)
