Sutton, MA / Thompson, CT – A 34-year-old Thompson woman was fatally injured when she was struck by a vehicle on Route 146 on Sutton Saturday evening.
According to the Massachusetts State Police (MSP), at approximately 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 17th, 2024, units were alerted to a “serious pedestrian crash” on Route 146 (Worcester-Providence Turnpike) in the area of Exit 13 (Central Tpke) in Sutton.
Troopers arrived to find a woman who had been struck in the roadway. Troopers and responders from Sutton Fire, Sutton Police, and Medstar Ambulance attempted life-saving measures. The woman was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center (Worcester, MA), with life-threatening injuries.
The 34-year-old woman residing in Thompson, CT was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. The occupants of the vehicle were uninjured.
The crash remains under investigation by the State Police-Millbury Barracks with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and Worcester County State Police Detective Unit.
Responding agencies included the Sutton Fire Department, Medstar Ambulance, Sutton Police Department, and the Massachusetts State Police.
