Last evening, July 17th 2023, firefighters from the Putnam Fire Department, East Putnam Fire Department, and Woodstock Vol Fire Assoc. trained on a donated home from WIN Waste Innovations.
With the home marked for demolition, the crews had the rare opportunity to practice roof operations, interior overhaul, and self-rescue on a real home without worrying about damaging property. Trainings like this don’t come often but they are critical to ensuring firefighters have realistic training prior to incidents.
