Woodstock, CT – A motorcyclist was airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center Friday night after they collided with a car in front of the Bungay fire station.

At approximately 10 PM on Friday, April 18th, 2025, first responders were dispatched to the area of 1256 Route 171 – Bungay Fire Brigade, for a reported motor vehicle versus car accident with serious injuries. Crews arrived to find a motorcyclist down in the roadway in front of the firehouse. A LIFE STAR helicopter was requested by Quinebaug Valley Emergency Communications (QVEC) dispatcher at the time of the 911 call due to it meeting Dispatch Initiated Auto Launch (D.I.A.L.) criteria.

Crews established a landing zone in a Perrin Rd field approximately 1/2 mile from the accident scene. LIFE STAR subsequently airlifted the rider to UMass Medical Center (Worcester, MA) with serious injuries.

Route 171 was closed until approximately 12:30 AM while the State Police conducted their investigation.

Agencies that responded included the Bungay Fire Brigade, Woodstock EMS, a KB Ambulance QV Paramedic, Muddy Brook Fire Department, Woodstock Volunteer Fire Association, Eastford Independent Fire Co. 1, Connecticut State Police Troop D, and Hartford Healthcare LIFE STAR.
