At approximately 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, the Auburn Police Department and the Auburn Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection of Inwood Rd and Oxford St N for reports of a child struck by a motor vehicle.

Minutes later, officers arrived on the scene and immediately began rendering care to the injured child until EMS could arrive. Police later updated, via Facebook, that the child was transported with non-life-threatening injuries, stating “This time the child will be physically okay”. The post went on to urge drivers to pay extra attention while traveling during school hours.

Due to the nature of the accident, Oxford St N was closed for multiple hours to allow Auburn Police Officers to conduct an accident reconstruction. The Auburn Drone Unit was also brought in to assist with the reconstruction.
