Fire crews are currently on the scene of a single vehicle vs tree motor vehicle accident. The vehicle has rolled over onto its side and one person is reportedly heavily entrapped with a head injury. LIFE STAR was requested under the Dispatcher Initiated Auto Launch (DIAL) protocol but declined the mission due to weather.

The incident was dispatched at approximately 7:45 pm on Thursday, June 22nd, 2023.

Crews from Chaplin, North Windham, Willimantic Ambulance, and a Windham Hospital Paramedic are on the scene.

2018 Update: The Incident Commander has requested a heavy rotator tow truck to the scene as soon as possible. Northeast Towing is responding with an expected arrival of 2035.

2045 Update: The patient has been freed and has been transported to Windham Hospital. During this incident and tree with wires has made contact with a fire apparatus. It is unclear if there is any damage to the fire apparatus at this time.
