At approximately 5:22 pm on Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023, the Danielson Fire Department’s 1st alarm assignment was struck for a reported garage fire at 276 Broad St.

According to South Killingly’s Fire Chief Travis Vandale, who was the incident commander, arriving units found heavy smoke coming from the garage and made an aggressive attack on the fire. Crews had the fire knocked down in approximately 4 minutes.

Companies remained on the scene for approximately 45 minutes overhauling and ensuring the fire was extinguished.

Chief Vandale went on to thank the Killingly Police Department and Connecticut State Police Troop D for securing the scene and keeping the roadways in the area clear for arriving fire apparatus.

One resident was evaluated by KB Ambuance but refused transport. No firefighters reported any injuries.

The Killingly Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the incident.

Agencies who responded, or were dispatched, included the Danielson Fire Department , South Killingly Fire Department, Atwood Hose Fire Company Moosup Fire Department, Attawaugan Fire Department, KB Ambulance, and the Connecticut State Police
