Griswold, CT — A motorcycle operator was killed and his passenger seriously injured following a crash at a four-way stop intersection Saturday afternoon.

According to the Connecticut State Police, at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, units responded to a reported pickup truck versus motorcycle collision at the intersection of Stone Hill Road and Roode Road.

A 2012 Honda CBR1000RR, operated by a 35-year-old Voluntown man with a 35-year-old female passenger of the same address, struck the side of a 2012 Nissan Frontier operated by a 58-year-old Griswold man. Both the operator and passenger of the motorcycle were ejected and thrown into the intersection.

A LIFESTAR helicopter was requested to a nearby landing zone, where it met a ground ambulance. Due to the severity of the operator’s injuries, crews elected to transport him by ground ambulance, with the flight crew onboard, to Backus Hospital in Plainfield, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The female passenger was transported by ground ambulance to Backus Hospital in Norwich with serious injuries.

The operator of the pickup truck was not injured.
