When units arrived on the scene they found the house heavily involved with fire. Engine Tanker 194 (ET194) and Tanker 194 (T194) positioned themselves on the A (front) and B (left from the front) sides of the building and utilized their deck guns (top-mounted nozzles designed for high water flow) to make an initial attack on the fire.

Once the deck guns knocked down a large portion of the exterior fire, several hand lines were deployed as crews made an aggressive attack on the first and second floors. The fire was largely knocked down within approximately 30 minutes from the time of the call but crews spent several hours chasing hotspots burning in the walls and roofline.

Throughout the fire, a tanker shuttle was utilized to bring water from a hydrant on Lake St to the scene.
