Worcester, MA – A 1-year-old is in stable condition after being seriously injured when she was struck by a vehicle Monday night.

According to the Worcester Police Department, at approximately 9:36 PM on Monday, June 24th, 2024, units were dispatched to the area of 243 Lincoln St for a reported car vs pedestrian accident.

On arrival, officers found a small crowd and a 1-year-old female toddler who had been struck by a vehicle after running into the street.

First responders, including a nurse who was on the scene, rendered aid to the girl until Worcester EMS transported her to UMass Memorial Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center (the highest level). During transport, a Trauma Alert was called activating a pediatric trauma team to be standing by at the hospital.

The Worcester Police Department provided an update Tuesday morning, June 25th, that the female is in “stable condition and is being treated for a head injury.”

The Crash Reconstruction Unit investigated the crash well into the night.
