Plainfield & East Hampton, CT – A 36-year-old East Hampton man was arrested after a large amount of drugs and cash were discovered during a traffic stop in Plainfield Sunday evening.

According to the Plainfield Police Department, at approximately 7:18 p.m., on Sunday, January 28th, 2024, a patroling Plainfield Officer initiated a motor vehicle stop after observing a black Cadillac SRX commit a moving violation while turning onto the I-395 South on-ramp from Route 14 (Plainfield Pike).

During the stop, Officers observed apparent narcotics and a large amount of U.S. currency within the vehicle. The 36-year-old operator, residing in East Hampton, CT, was immediately detained. Officers seized over $3,000 of U.S currency, 1100 wax paper folds containing Fentanyl, and approximately 13 grams of crack cocaine.

The man was charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance x2
  • Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell
  • Numerous additional motor vehicle-related charges

The man has since been released on bond with the assistance of a Bail Bondsman.
