Webster, Mass. – A Webster man led Dudley Police Officers on a short multi-town pursuit early Wednesday morning before being peacefully apprehended and charged with multiple charges including Operating Under the Influence (OUI).
According to the Dudley Police Department, Dudley Police Sergeant Paul Ceppetelli was conducting traffic monitoring in the area of Cumberland Farms, West Main St, when a vehicle passed his post at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was then observed passing another vehicle in a no-passing zone as it continued East toward Webster. As the Officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the operator failed to comply and continued towards Webster.
A pursuit was initiated, and additional officers responded to the area to assist. The pursuit crossed the town line prior to the operator pulling into a residence on Goddard St (approximately 3/4 of a mile past the town line). The 66-year-old man was taken into custody without further incident.
The man was charged with speeding, passing violation, marked lanes violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, 3rd Offence OUI-Liquor or .08%, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, unregistered motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, number plate violation to conceal ID.
Officers Daniel Brunelle and John Glowacki were also credited with assisting in the arrest.
