Units are on the scene of a multi-vehicle motor vehicle accident (MVA) in the Westbound lanes of I-90 (Mass Pike) near mile marker 82 (Mass State Police Barracks). A tractor-trailer, or possible box truck, reportedly crossed the median from the Eastbound lanes and struck at least one vehicle in the westbound lane. The operator of the tractor-trailer is entrapped with severe injuries requiring an air medical helicopter.
A secondary accident occurred involving a Mass State Police Cruiser and another vehicle while the two operators were attempting to avoid the truck, No major injuries have been reported from the secondary accident.
There are major delays reported in both directions of the Mass Pike.
